WELCOME. I’m a UK-based consultant, editor, journalist and author, and specialise in producing written, spoken and visual material for businesses, magazines, newsletters, national newspapers and web sites.
FORMULA ONE: The London Design Centre used my business book Formula One: Made in Britain which details the British influence on Formula One racing and its technology as the basis for its major new exhibition at Shad Thames, SE1 2YD: Formula One, The Great Design Race. The event won Design Week's award for 'Best Temporary Exhibition'. Currently, it's on tour. Having moved on from the Design Museum, Finland, you can catch up with it at the Opera City Art Gallery, Tokyo (12 April — 29 June). Later in the year it will be at the National Museum of Singapore (4 September — 7 October). All feedback welcome.
MEDICINE: The Medical Journalists Association shortlisted me for a major writing award ‘for excellence in medical journalism’. My work has now been ‘highly commended’. Perhaps I can now charge more...

The Beechwood Jets
L-R: Rachel, Ros, Carol and Caron
CHARITY: Certainly having written extensively about cancer in all its forms over the past 15 years should have prepared me for the news that my better half delivered in May 2006.
Two years of brutal treatment for breast cancer followed and Ros, trouper that she is, announced that at the end of May 2008 accompanied by three friends and christened the ‘Beechwood Jets’ she’d be flying off to Beijing to tackle the Great Wall of China to raise money for breast cancer relief.
Having cracked the usual jokes (“That’s a long way to go for a take-away”), it’s a brave thing for her to do, but Ros and her chums know they’re the lucky ones and deserve your support, so do drop in at Ros’ site and make a pledge.
Thank you. We don’t know what the next few years hold, but ‘Breakthrough’ is working hard with its vital programme of research and education so it can live up to its name.
