Alterian

  • acted as a ghost writer for the company's senior executives.

ATG

  • management support: worked with senior LOB managers to produce briefing documents.
  • in-house publications: research and wrote copy for the company's magazine and advertorial products.

British Telecom

  • wrote for a variety of the company's online newsletters, magazines and briefing papers.

3Com

  • wrote for 'Executive Intelligence', 3Com's quarterly business briefing paper, designed to help SMEs in the UK and Ireland develop their ability to think, decide and act with increased confidence about e-business.

BourneRiver Marketing

  • put together client briefing documents for the managing director. the company's management team needed detailed backgrounders before pitching for new clients.

Comshare

  • created case study material (based on phone interview and research) about the company's clients.

Computer Associates

  • researched and wrote an executive briefing paper about outsourcing, based on market data and customer interviews.

DecisionWorks

  • carried out face-to-face interviews to generate case study collateral for marketing.

Deloitte & Touche

  • rewrote the content for Deloitte & Touche UK's web site to reflect the company's focus on 'e-business'.

Digital Equipment

  • commissioned by Digital Equipment, written and edited by me, 'Partners in Arts' was the first sponsorship vehicle to explain the role of IT in the arts for a general audience.

EDS

  • produced a briefing pack on client server technologies which the company then gave away to its customers. the guide demystified the subject, and showed how EDS customers in the US, UK, France and Germany have put client server solutions in place.

EPSRC

  • I edited 'IMPACT', the quarterly Information Technology and Computer Science newsletter of the EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) for two years. This is a fascinating area - where leading edge research meets the needs of industry.

GlobeCast Northern Europe

  • features and case studies for the company's newsletter. I also brought my tv skills into play by presenting and editing the company's business tv video, used to win new business.

Herald Communications

  • carried out face-to-face interviews with client customers and created case study collateral.

IBM

  • OS/2 Warp: press training with the UK company's senior management prior to their launch of OS/2 Warp. This was part of a worldwide launch in London, Sydney, New York and Munich of the new version of IBM's operating system. Used a series of mock interviews to bring out controversial issues so the team could anticipate and respond positively to hot issues, as well as deal with negative comment.
  • AS/400: also put together a briefing document for the company's heads of AS/400 business before they embarked on a round of interviews with journalists.

  • face-to-face interviews with clients for case studies.

IDC Research

  • as an Associate Consultant, I supplied copy and carried out editing on a number of the company's reports.

Insight Marketing

  • case study and comment for client brochures.

IQ Software

  • case studies for company brochure.

JBA Software

  • researched and wrote a 10,000-word executive briefing document which outlined the need for business intelligence technology. It was followed by a series of sections which demystifed the jargon surrounding the different components that make up BI, pointing to their effective delivery.

KPMG Management Consulting

  • white papers: as part of its Executive Guide Series, researched and wrote a groupware white paper to support KPMG's thinking on the subject. the work also contained client case studies.
  • newsletters: carried out face-to-face interviews, researched and wrote features for KPMG's, and its customers', newsletters.

Lewis Communications

  • case study copy for client portfolios.

Lotus (post IBM)

  • wrote collateral to support Lotus' attempt to position itself more strongly as an enterprise-wide vendor, using Lotus Notes and MQSeries, etc., as its strategic technology (ies). Worked with UK/Swedish managers to research and draft a substantial briefing document for CIOs attending product launches in Nice.
  • Noiseworks
  • carried out face-to-face interviews and wrote clients' case study material.

Oast Communications

  • case study and feature writing for client newsletters and marketing collateral.

Oracle

  • I have written a number of customer 'profiles' for the UK company - featuring British Petroleum Company (BP Amoco), British Telecom, and Sun Life of Canada. I have also done stories on LINK Interchange Network, Severn Trent Water, and Stapleton's Limited.

Staffware

  • chaired sessions at the company's annual customer conference.

SSA

  • the IT Futures report, written and edited by me, was a business briefing document for board directors.

Sun

  • general case study and feature writing for the company's reseller community.

The Open Group

  • case studies, ghost writing: researched and wrote customer profiles, as well as articles, for the UK team.
  • event support: provided editorial for the organisation's much respected series of meetings for CIOs - the Inner Circle, which formed an exclusive think-tank, the object of which was to help The Open Group establish policy and direction, and service the needs of its buy-side members.

Tivoli

  • wrote banking white paper for the company's board-level customers.

TPS Communications

  • wrote collateral for the company's newsletter.

Unisys

  • wrote case study and general feature copy for the company's marketing collateral.
