BROADCAST: I’m a former radio man, and television journalist with over 200 hours of editing and presenting under my belt. This has been mostly live tv for ‘The Computer Channel’ and various videoconference broadcasts, such as the ‘Olivetti PC Pro Special’ from Zurich with Pam Armstrong. But I have also anchored a number of canned specials - a ‘Budget Analysis’ for Sun Life (featuring John Major), and a programme looking at the British Computer Society’s ‘Professional Development Scheme’.
NEW MEDIA: I have worked on ‘Networks TV’ at the NEC, and acted as a consultant on the launch of new media start-ups ‘silicon.com’ (NMTV), the ‘IT Network’, and ‘uk.internet.com’.
I also acted as anchorman for the ‘SiliconReport E-commerce’ CD programmes. Each programme contained a number of segments. You can see a couple of the edited tv sessions below:
I was ‘uk.internet.com’s’ launch editor, and then its consulting editor when the site was under the control of VNU Business Online. Designed and written specifically for a British audience, it aimed to guide e-business managers through the bewildering maze of hype and techno babble that currently keeps us away from the business of doing business on the Internet. The site is now part of the huge US portal, internet.com. The following article is a taster of the site’s current fare.
Successful e-business? Few have achieved it, but everyone can just what exactly does it take to keep a UK e-business ticking these days?
